We hit on a couple of casting questions/rumors this week in movie news, to which our chatroom tended to respond with Vin Diesel as their choice - an opinion the podcast crowd answered with a unified "No." We also talk about movie doldrums, and begin our look at Artist of the Month artist Sidney Poitier, with two fantastic films previously unseen by our staff.

Assuming I break down and create a “most anticipated films of 2010” list in the next few weeks, Tron Legacy will be toward the top of it. I’m a huge fan of the classic Disney picture (which is overlooked by far too many people in my opinion) and I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for the follow up.

As I’ve said before, I missed last year’s surprise presentation of the Tron test reel that got the sequel green-lit. Because Disney never released the footage, I’ve had to make do with some really horrible home video camera grabs of what was shown on the screens in Hall H - a little better than not seeing the footage at all, but not much.

Last year’s big surprise from Comic-Con was Disney’s unveiling of a teaser trailer for a new Tron movie, then revealed to be called T2ON. Even those of us who love the original movie hated the title, and it appears Disney may be sympathetic, since this year’s Comic-Con presentation included a new title screen for the movie, now re-dubbed Tron - Legacy.
