Movie Talk / Re: Hmm. Better have a best Star Wars Movie poll then
« on: June 18, 2010, 11:14:02 PM »
there was a 7-part review/dissection of Ep 1 - Phantom Menace on YT a few months back that is totally worth your time - I suck at the whole link thing - but look for it - so so funny and true.

Is there really any discussion these days? - everyone knows that Empire is the best of the films - with Star Wars (ep 4) holding a special place for some since that's where it all began.

Hands up if you saw Ep 4-5-6 in the theater...  or am I the only old person in these forums?

I've read all 5 of the graphic novels (#6 - the final volume - comes out in late July) and I can't wait to see this film!!  Trailer looks great - so I have high hopes!
I'm going to Comic Con this year, so I should see lots about this film there.

hmmm - great thread!  Lots to listen to...

Lately for me - it's been an aural soup since I just bought an iTrip so I can listen to my iPod on shuffle in the car...  great fun -since I have so many songs in there, I'm never sure what's coming next...  Heard "Yoda" by Weird Al ( a parody of the Kinks "Lola") and Tube Snake Boogie by ZZ Top on the way to work today...

Looking at the very top of this list - where would Tori be without Kate Bush - I so loved her in the 80s and 90s.  Tori started strongs - those first two CDs are classics - but lately I feel she's grown way too self-indulgent.  Scarlet's Walk was the last CD by her that I liked.

newer music...  I love the Fratellis, a great band from Scotland and The Hold Steady.

And of course I listen to a lot of J-pop that none of you will ever hear, but I've gotta keep the karaoke skills in tune!  :)

Yeah - the England game was rubbish.  Americans had a great 2nd half - so exciting.  It's up to them now - they win; they advance - pretty simple actually.

Gonna get up early to cheer on the Blue Samurai against Holland...  Go Japan!
