Weekly Blend Zombieland Commentary Track

Zombieland was one of our favorite movies of 2010 - a great comedy that thrives in its zombie-infested setting. Now the Weekly Blend crew sit down and share their thoughts in a Widescreen Warrior commentary track. Download the file, burn it to CD or load it on your iPod, throw Zombieland in your DVD player, and start listening.

Weekly Blend #219 - Pre-Oscar Round Up 2010

It's our annual pre-Oscar round up. Listen as Rafe, Margaret, and Jeff round up all the contenders and pick which movies they expect to take home awards next Sunday. Will the recent Hurt Locker controversy cost the movie its statue? Is ten selections for best picture too many? Just what is the value of Jeff's life in a bet?

Weekly Blend #218 - Things Are Seldom What They Seem

After months of prolonged waiting, Shutter Island has arrived and all three of us are impressed, to say the least. We're less impressed with The Wolfman remake and Sidney Poitier's '80s movies, but we dive into those as well. Add in some movie news talk about changes to the Oscars and Kevin Smith, and you have a well rounded hour of entertainment news and reviews.

Weekly Blend #217 - Sucking the Talent Out of the Room

Our review of Valentine's Day, which wrangled the top spot at the box office this weekend, is responsible for the show's title, a description that satisfactorily describes just how bad Taylor Swift is in the movie.

Weekly Blend #216 - Say No to Vin Diesel

We hit on a couple of casting questions/rumors this week in movie news, to which our chatroom tended to respond with Vin Diesel as their choice - an opinion the podcast crowd answered with a unified "No." We also talk about movie doldrums, and begin our look at Artist of the Month artist Sidney Poitier, with two fantastic films previously unseen by our staff.

Weekly Blend #215 - A Super-Sized, Weather-Delayed, Computer Created Mess

Fans who tried to tune in during our live broadcast know we were facing some computer issues. Little did we know those issues were affecting our broadcast clock as well. What we ended up with is a broadcast that's two days late thanks to the weather, with a cast that's spread out in three different locations, and a show that's fourteen minutes longer thanks to the computer. What a mess.

Weekly Blend #214 - Studio Interference

We're in the doldrums of the year, so we don't have a ton to talk about in the way of new reviews, but there have been several stories building with a similar theme: studio interference.

Shall We Play a Game? #5 - Big Bang Theory Off Broadway

We are joined by the regular Weekly Blend crew, creating a cast of three men and a woman, just like that TV show!

Weekly Blend #213 - 2009 Wrapped With a Not-So-Tidy Bow

2009 ended weeks ago, but we haven't gotten our final say after a slew of computer issues and personal illnesses. Now we finally get our final look at the year, after discussing the obstacles we've faced in the past few weeks. Listen to what we liked, what left us disappointed, names that stood out, and our favorite films of 2003. At least one of our choices is bound to surprise you.

Weekly Blend #212 - Kevin's Beef

It's an episode so long we couldn't possibly cram it into our traditional hourlong format (a technical malfunction with the timer notwithstanding). Inside you'll hear reviews of Sherlock Holmes, Up in the Air, and Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Darkside, as well as the finish of James Cameron month with Strange Days and True Lies.

Weekly Blend #211 - Merry Christmas 2009

Snow may have delayed this week's episode, but we're all still having a jolly time, especially with the looming white Christmas in front of us. This week we talk James Cameron's Avatar, continue our appreciation of Cameron with Titanic and Ghosts of the Abyss, discuss Brittany Murphy's death, and the Golden Globe nominations.

Weekly Blend #210 - Where Are Brad Pitt and His Dudes?

This week brings you everything you could possibly want in an episode of the Weekly Blend. We have new movie reviews of Invictus and The Princess and the Frog. We look at upcoming DVDs The Hangover and Inglorious Basterds. James Cameron month is continued with talk of Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Shall We Play a Game? #4 - Taking on the Lich King

Regular Weekly Blend co-host Margaret Williams shows off her geek side as she sits in on this fourth episode. Actually, she shows just how much gamer ranting she'll endure as Joe and Rafe discuss the latest in World of Warcraft, alternate MMORPGs like Aion and the forthcoming Star Trek Online (send us a beta key!).

Weekly Blend #209 - When You Stare Into the Abyss

Our earlier record tie this week prevented us from seeing any of the week's new releases, but this is still a full episode thanks to our in-depth look at James Cameron's Aliens and The Abyss. What makes Cameron's sequel better than the other Alien follow ups? Why is a cute kid acceptable? And why is The Abyss such a standout movie in our minds?

Weekly Blend #208 - A Fantastic Return

We're back with new reviews of Old Dogs and The Fantastic Mister Fox, as well as Rafe's survival story after watching Twilight.
