We’ve never been much of the Twilight kind around here, and from the response we get from our regular readers, neither are most of you. A few of you might be interested in the latest chapter, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which is the big Fourth of July release this week, but for the most part, our regular readers are steering away from the film.

There are many things I could criticize Twlight for. Unseen, my criticism of the movie was vast: the archetypical romance between human and vampire, the absurdity of the story’s vampire mythology, the lack of understanding on the author’s part as to how her creation fit in with other stories in the genre.

So, we've finally broken down and watched Twilight. Now we're ready to take on the sequel, Twilight: New Moon, right? Wrong.

With The Twilight Saga: New Moon in theaters next weekend, it’s time for us to break down and finally see the first movie in the series, Twilight. I’ve been saying for some time that I was going to do this (all summer, in fact) and it’s time to “nut up or shut up” as my favorite supernatural movie for 2009, Zombieland, succinctly put it.

You’ve read the books. You’re watching the movies. You’ve even set yourself up with some nice cosplay costumes that let you assume the role of Bella, Edward, or any of the other various figures of Twilight. Somehow, you still want to get more immersed into the world of Stehanie Meyers’ characters.
